Art Bumgardner

Art Bumgardner earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Texas, Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas. He retired from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2003 after thirty-seven years of teaching voice, opera, and musical theater. He was a member of the voice faculty at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC from 2006-2015 and appeared frequently as baritone soloist with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the Taylor Festival Choir, the choirs of Grace Episcopal, St. Michael's, First Scots Presbyterian, St. Matthews Lutheran, and James Island Presbyterian.

Dr. Bumgardner is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and served as North Central Regional Governor from 1998-2002. He also served six years as a member of the board of directors for the NATS Foundation. He recently moved to Helena, Montana where he sings in the Helena Symphonic Chorale and maintains a private voice studio.
