Kimberly Peachy, NCTM, began her piano studies at the age of 6 in her hometown of Great Falls, Montana, studying with Claire Domke through High School. She attended Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri, where she received an Associate of Arts Degree in Piano. In 1984 she earned the Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland, where she studied with Lillian Freundlich. Kim received the Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1987 where she studied with Sonia Vlahcevic.

Kim became a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) in 1992, and was awarded Permanent Professional Certification in 2007. She taught piano for the past 30 years in Richmond, Virginia where she was an active member of the local and state music organizations, holding many different officer positions including serving the Virginia Music Teachers Association as President from 2003-2005.

Kim enjoys teaching all ages and levels of students, from pre-school age to senior citizens, beginners through advanced performers. She has studied and taught the Suzuki Method of Early Childhood Education as well as the more traditional note reading approaches. Her students participate in recitals, festivals, and competitions. In 2008 Kim began studying the Lever Harp with Bridgett Stuckey at The Academy of Music in Richmond, and she is excited to offer beginning harp lessons here in Helena.

In addition to teaching, Kim has worked as a church accompanist and collaborative pianist. She loves to accompany student and professional instrumentalists and vocalists, perform as a soloist or in ensemble, and play for church services and special events whenever asked.
